Hauberg Estate. Director Deb Kuntzi. The Hauberg Mansion and carriage house along with the grounds are currently going through renovation. This house was listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1972. This Prairie-style mansion sits atop a hillside in Rock Island. Dir. Kuntzi will talk about the work that is currently in progress to restore the mansion and carriage house and the gardens and grounds that were designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen. The history of the Hauberg family will also be highlighted.

World Relief Quad Cities. Director Laura Fontaine. World Relief Quad Cities is a not-for-profit agency providing services to refugees, and immigrants in western Illinois and eastern Iowa. This agency provides financial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual support for refugees. Since 1999 World Relief Quad Cities has served over 2,500 refugees and immigrants. Legal services, employment, assistance, food pantries, ESL and citizenship classes are provided. This year this agency is committed to resettle 175 families from Afghanistan in the Quad Cities.

Rock Island Arsenal Museum. Director Stephen P. Allie. Rock Island Arsenal is the Army’s 2nd oldest museum. It opened in 1905. Currently the museum is closed for renovations. It will reopen this summer. New engaging interactive exhibits will be installed for children and adults as well as STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities tied to the history of the arsenal. The museum also just recently acquired a WWI tank that was built at the arsenal. The tank will be displayed after being restored.
