We make sure that all the members of Riverside feel connected to our family by sharing Christ's love with our shut ins. Anyone with a heart for older people can be a great addition to The Flock.
We visit those who can no longer attend worship on their own and deliver bulletins, newsletters, recordings of worship, and tokens of love. We also make cards, blankets, and assorted gifts.
This ministry is held on the last Sunday of every month beginning at 12:15 p.m. We provide a free meal along with a place of fellowship and communion for the community as well as members of our Riverside family. We look forward to this dinner each month, and consider it an important part of the life of Riverside.
Ways to Serve
Lead Cook - The lead cook prepares a meal for between 40-60 people. There is a recipe book to help guide cooks on preparing a meal for such a large amount of people. The lead cook is able to leave shortly after 12:15, after the serving has taken place.
Server - Help serve food to our guests starting at 12:15 p.m.
Clean up Crew - Help clean up the kitchen and Peterson Hall, usually from 12:45-1:30 p.m.
Greeter - Come and greet our guests with a lovely, warm smile.
Desserts - Bake and drop off a delicious dessert for our guests to eat.
All are invited to a homemade dinner at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday from September through May.
After dinner, check out one of these groups or ministries. There is nursery care for infants and toddlers from 6-8 p.m. All of our nursery staff are Safe Sanctuaries trained, and there are always two workers there.
Children (Preschool thru 5th Grade)
6:00 p.m. - Kid's Small Group is for children in PreSchool-5th Grade to come along with us as we explore all the great, adventurous stories of the Bible, create fun crafts and play some exciting games!
6:30 p.m. - Dramatic Worship is where children kindergarten through fifth grade will practice and express worship through dance during Dramatic Worship. They will perform at Sunday church services and other special church events.
Youth (6th-12th Grade)
Youth in grades 6-12 meet every Wednesday night at 6:00-7:30 p.m. After dinner at 5:30, all youth meet in the Quad for a time of fellowship and games, followed with worship and small groups. Join with us as we connect with the students in our community to have fun and learn together in a setting that provides an environment for spiritual transformation of heart, mind, and body. All are welcome to join us!
